Fano resonances in quantum transport with vibrations

Quantum-mechanical scattering involving continuum states coupled to a scatterer with discrete spectrum gives rise Fano resonances. Here we consider scatterers that possess internal vibrational degrees of freedom in addition states. Entanglement between the scattered excitation and modes complicates analytical numerical calculations considerably. For example one-dimensional develop multichannel quantum approach which can determine reflection transmission probabilities presence vibrations. Application linear chain control unit containing vibrating sites shows have profound effect on transport. suitable parameters, spectral regions are opaque static case be rendered transparent when vibrations included. The formalism is general enough applicable variety platforms for transport including molecular aggregates, cold atom chains, quantum-dot arrays wires based conjugated polymers.
